My iPhone Apps
One of my semi-constant obsessions right now is my iPhone. It’s gone through a couple of renames as I’ve gone through several computers in the last two years (argh, don’t ask) and being the ocd nerd I am I have come up with a more consistent naming convention. Currently, Nectar has 32 apps, though I believe I have 34 total on my computer. Here are some that I think other people might be interested in:
Flickit – Uploads iPhone images to Flickr. Unlike Flickr’s app, you can post to your blog at the same time. Also not available from Flickr on the iPhone via app or mobile version of site is an after-the-fact blog this button…so if you want to blog photos from the iphone while also posting to Flickr, get this app! FREE!
SugarSync – Cloud storage. They give out 2gbs free, I pay for more so I have my music backed up offsite. Maybe I’ll put other stuff there too, someday. It still needs work, but they do have a feature where you can stream music stored in the “cloud” to your phone. that really sold me on this cloud storage as opposed to others like Dropbox. Free.
Remember the Milk – I could be using this to a much greater effect than I presently am, and have in the past. I use this for scheduled repetitive tasks, like cleaning the litter box every three days, that sort of thing. The app is only available if you subscribe to the pro account, $25 a year.
Tweetie – A nicely-designed Twitter app. $2.99
Color Expert – The most expensive app I have purchased – $9.99 – but holy crap. Pantone colors from anything! Instantly! Design nerd squeee!
BeejiveIM – Most importantly, I can continue a gchat conversation while walking to my car. Also, if someone’s phone is out of batteries or they just aren’t picking up, but I am desparate to get in touch with them, I can check gchat, aim, etc. Apparently $9.99, but I don’t think that’s what I paid at the time.
Shazam – I’ve gotten this to work, but not in a less than ideal situation. Record a song snippet, it will tell you what the song is. Worked for at least one song I thought was too obscure. and, FREE!
Last.fm – Free, but to have the “My Library” feed or “My Loved Tracks” feed on your computer or the app, you now have to pay for a plus membership to last.fm, which is 3 bucks a month.
Pandora – Free, doesn’t have library or loved feeds anyway.
iTunes Remote – Still just a novelty for me as I’m either in front of my computer or downstairs where I can’t hear my music anyway, it may come in handy now that we’ve got all the music connected to the computer in the library. It can control iTunes from anywhere within reach of the same wi-fi network. Free.
Flickr - You can view your photostream, your contacts’ photostreams, see contacts’ uploads by date & all sorts of other stuff. Very swanky interface. Still, no blog or Twitter support. Free.
iPhlix – For reordering & adding to my Netflix queue while I still remember which movie it was I wanted to add. $2.99
WhatTheFont – Perhaps more convenient & instant than the online version – take a picture, submit, see what the font is! More design nerd squee! Free.
Unblock Me Free – I was addicted to this for weeks. It’s a very fun game that you can interrupt and go back to very easily. I also like puzzles. Free & paid versions.
TanZen – Tangrams! Hooray! Addicted to this one for a chunk of time as well. Free & paid ($.99) versions.
Kindle – The app is free, the books are not. Sizeable samples can be instantly downloaded though, which is very nice. Free.
Mint.com - I have yet to get my finances more in order simply from seeing the spending information it provides, but I’m hoping it is very slowly encouraging something. Free.
Say Who – Short of buying the new iPhone 3GS, this is the best way to get voice dialing on your phone. Or the best I’ve found, anyway. Free & paid ($2.99) versions.

Great list!
